So, everyone else is weighing in on this, and while I don't have a whole lot of connection to Milliways anymore, I know there are still characters/players there who used to be very involved with me and mine.
Personally, I'd find it bizarre in the extreme to see another Caspian, Jack Twist, or Anne Shirley. They are far and away the characters I played most and was most involved with. My characters are largely retired-by-default since I haven't played there in so long, so theoretically I could move pretty much any of them over. Still, I can't see myself dropping back into the whirlpool that is Milliways with the same characters, although the chance to bring back Caspian from a retirement I never really wanted to push him into, or an alternate version...ahaha. That is tempting.
I guess this is really just me looking at this and saying....now that's interesting. If any of y'all who were closely involved with my characters have an opinion, I'd be happy to hear it.

It will probably have a lot to do with whether Georgia brings Amy and from when and whether Amy's history gets re-written, because having a new Caspian there with a brand-new history would be really rough on poor Amy. And then, would it be a new Caspian, or the same one who just...didn't go with the others?
(Which was something Aspen and I played with in defy_ka and was kind of awesome, not gonna lie.)
But, looking at it sideways...yeah. You know, it's a shiny, happy thought, the possibility of him back.

How can that really be from so long ago.
And now there are all these random sudden possibilities.
And it's been so long since I gave her so much attention myself.

It was a great time, for sure, but it all sort of fell apart after he got to the end of his canon and came back as younger ghost!Jack. If he were to come back, it's possible I'd bring him from a different spot in his personal timeline, post his first entry into Milliways, so he'd at least know some folks (ie. Sallie, aka THE MAKER OF THE PIE).
Of course, pretty much any version of Jack would adore Sallie, so even if he didn't know her, I somehow doubt it would take them long to get reacquainted.
Aside from Ennis, Sallie and the other Firefly folks are probably the people Jack was most involved with, so I'd definitely want to chat about the possibilities, were he to show up again!

So I guess my feeling is . . . magically back from retirement could be very very awesome, rebooted less so (especially if he came back as Ben Barnes, which would just be confusing *g*). He's just such a part of Amy's story that unless I were 100% sure I was done with her (and I'm not sure I ever could be), a rebooted or AU Caspian would make me . . . nervous.
We can definitely talk, e-mail, bounce ideas around if it would help!

Date: 2012-01-14 04:29 am (UTC)From:He has so much history that I would be very very hesitant to just wipe it all away and reboot him entirely, but there would have to be some changes, like...there's no way he would have stayed behind if Lucy left, once they were together (which, as I'm sure you recall, was the main problem before :/). So, yes. I can't imagine having a Caspian and and Amy who weren't, you know, Caspian and Amy, though the details could get tricky.
Nice to know you think it could be good to have him back, though *higs*
